Effective Date: July 14, 2025 (Revised)
Thank you for your interest in Quovi™ ("Quovi," "we," "us," or "our"). Your privacy is important to us, and this Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information when you interact with our websites and our mobile application or related services (collectively, the "Services"). Please also review our Terms of Service (link placeholder), which set out the terms governing your use of the Services.
We only provide our Services to users in the United States and distribute our mobile application through Apple's App Store. While we respect global privacy principles, certain provisions in this Policy specifically address U.S. privacy requirements.
By using or accessing our Services, or by providing personal information to us, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please discontinue use of the Services.
For details on the experience powered by this data, explore our adaptive AI running coach features and integrations, including Garmin and Apple Health sync, cross-training support, and Coach Q guidance.
Medical Disclaimer:
Quovi is a general wellness application and does not provide medical advice. Always consult a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your exercise, nutrition, or wellness routines.
Quovi is an AI-powered fitness and wellness platform that provides coaching recommendations, workout plans, and related features to help users achieve their personal goals. We do not offer medical advice, and our Services are intended for general wellness only.
Quovi is not a Covered Entity or Business Associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); therefore, HIPAA typically does not apply to the data we collect. However, we recognize that certain health or fitness metrics may be sensitive, and we apply heightened security and privacy safeguards as described in this Policy.
If you choose to connect Quovi with third-party services (such as Garmin), please review their privacy practices. Your use of Garmin's APIs or data-sharing features is also subject to Garmin's own terms and privacy policies.
We collect information about you, including information that directly or indirectly identifies you, as described below.
We partner with OpenAI to process user-submitted content and generate personalized coaching feedback and training plans. Content submitted to our AI features—including chat messages, goal descriptions, and other inputs—may be transmitted to OpenAI’s APIs and processed under their terms. These transmissions include both direct user prompts and derived data such as vector embeddings for contextual memory features.
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Quovi will request read-only access to certain fitness data via Apple’s HealthKit framework. Specifically, we may read:
Quovi does not write any data to Apple Health. You must explicitly grant permission in the Health app prompt before we can read any Health data. You can revoke this permission at any time in the Health app.
When stored in Quovi, workout data may include derived representations such as simplified GPS points ("map samples") and aggregated statistics. These are used solely to power Quovi features.
You can revoke Quovi’s access to Apple Health at any time from the Apple Health app (iOS) under Sources/Apps. Once revoked, Quovi will no longer be able to read new Health data. Previously synced workouts stored in your Quovi account remain until you delete your account or request deletion (see Data Retention & Deletion).
When you connect your Garmin account, we may access various activity, health, or training data, including but not limited to:
You must affirmatively grant permission for Quovi to receive this data via Garmin's OAuth process. If you do not grant access, we will not receive or process your Garmin data.
We do not sell your Apple Health or Garmin data for marketing purposes. We only share data in these limited circumstances:
You can revoke Quovi's access to Garmin data at any time by:
Once revoked, we will not receive new data from Garmin. You may also request deletion of previously collected Garmin data (see Data Retention & Deletion).
Garmin OAuth tokens are encrypted using industry-standard AES encryption and are decrypted only within secure backend systems. These tokens are never exposed to the client app.
We use the information we collect for purposes such as:
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration or for targeted advertising. We may share your information under these limited circumstances:
We also use Redis and Vercel KV to manage anonymous system-level counters and transient session information. These systems do not store personal information.
To enhance personalization and memory features, we may generate and store vector embeddings (numeric representations of user-submitted text) which are used solely within Quovi’s services and are not shared externally. These are stored in a de-identified format.
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. Specifically:
Once data has been aggregated or de-identified for analytics or AI model improvements, we cannot always guarantee removal of previously derived insights, but we ensure it is not identifiable to you.
Certain metrics we collect from Garmin or that you provide (e.g., heart rate, sleep data, stress levels) can be considered sensitive personal information under some privacy laws. By connecting your Garmin device or providing this information, you expressly consent to our processing of such data for:
HealthKit Notice (Apple Health on iOS)
Quovi uses Apple’s HealthKit framework to read certain fitness data (e.g., workouts, associated heart rate, and routes) after you explicitly grant permission. Quovi does not write any data to Apple Health. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app. Data read from HealthKit and uploaded to your Quovi account is processed under this Privacy Policy and may be removed upon your deletion request.
We will not use or disclose sensitive health/fitness data for purposes unrelated to your user experience, nor will we sell or license it to third parties for marketing. If you wish to withhold or revoke consent for sensitive data processing, you may do so at any time by disconnecting Garmin or adjusting your account settings (though certain features may be limited if we do not have this data).
Depending on your U.S. state of residence (e.g., California), you may have additional privacy rights (see Additional Notice for California Residents).
If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:
